Welcome!

Hello one and all!  My name is Gigi, which is really something I came up with myself.  You see, my children are all grown or almost there and soon we will have grandchildren around.  So, in the course of thinking about all of this, I thought, "What would I like my grandchildren to call me?"  Now, I had a Grandma so-and-so (insert last name here), a Grandpa so-and-so (do the same), a Grandma Nita (her name was actually Juanita, but she hated that), a Boppa Bill, a Nana and a Boppa (just plain old Boppa, with nothing else attached to it).  Any-hoo, my last name starts with a "G" and I thought that maybe Nana G would be nice, but then I thought about Grandma G, which if you shorten it is G.G., which is how I came up with Gigi.  Nice, huh?

This blog is about things in which you could say I am an expert.  Of course, my father once told me that the definition of an "expert" is "an 'ex' is a has been and a 'spurt' is a drip under pressure."  Maybe I should rephrase it and say that I would like to share thoughts, ideas and stories about things in which I have some amount of expertise.  If you've read my profile, you will see that I have been a wife for over 25 years and a mother for a little bit less than that.  Voila! Divine Domesticity was born.  I like to make my home a haven away from the everyday world.  I believe that not only is your body a temple, but your home too, and taking care of it shows gratitude to God for everything which He has blessed you.  I love to cook, read, knit, sew, organize and play!  I hope that you will find the posts within this blog fun, interesting, thought provoking and most of all just plain entertaining.  I never said I was perfect at any of this, but the journey is the most fun!  So let's take this journey together.....
